Travel First-Aid Kit

This is an exhaustive list; you should personalize your kit based on your destination, duration of trip, planned activities and medical conditions. This list can serve as a checklist for your packing.

  • Wound Care: Bandages, steri-strips, gauze, adhesive tape, alcohol wipes.
  • Sunscreen: With an SPF rating greater than 30.
  • Insect Repellant: Containing DEET.
  • Water purification tablets or a filter with an ‘absolute less than 1 micron’ filter.
  • Pain Medication: Tylenol and/or Motrin.
  • Anti-diarrhea Medication: Imodium or Pepto-Bismol.
  • Anti-histamine Medication: Benadryl.
  • Anti-nausea/ Motion sickness Medication: Meclizine/Scopolamine/Dramamine.
  • Cold / Sinus Medication.
  • Skin cream: Hydrocortisone.
  • Antibiotics: Malaria prophylaxis, Travelers’ diarrhea, Antifungal – Diflucan.
  • All your regular medications and medical supplies in your CARRY ON luggage.
  • Extra contact lenses, cleaning solutions, glasses etc.
  • Small scissors, tweezers and sewing kit in your CHECKED in luggage.
  • Small roll of duct tape.
  • Small flashlight.
